Cookie Policy

← Back to Dashboard You can change your cookie preferences at any time. Your choices are stored in a single first-party cookie named crashgauge_consent.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites you visit. They can be used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, serve adverts, or measure how a site is used. This page lists the cookies Crash Gauge may set, why, and how to control them.
2. What Crash Gauge itself does not use
- No analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no gtag, no equivalent).
- No cross-site tracking pixels.
- No first-party cookies for user accounts (the site has no login).
The only first-party storage the site itself uses is your browser's localStorage for your dark-mode preference, and IndexedDB to cache economic indicator data. Neither contains personal information and both stay on your device.
3. Third-party services you can consent to
Advertising (Google AdSense)
marketingLets us show adverts from Google AdSense, which keeps the site free to use. AdSense may set cookies to cap ad frequency and measure performance.
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads | Ad frequency capping and measurement | Google AdSense | Up to 13 months |
__gpi | Ad personalisation state | Google AdSense | Up to 13 months |
NID | Preferences and ad personalisation | Up to 6 months | |
IDE | Ad performance measurement | Google DoubleClick | Up to 13 months |
4. Your consent is recorded
When you make a choice in the cookie banner, we store it in a first-party cookie called crashgauge_consent (expiry: 180 days). This lets the site remember your choice on future visits. You can change it at any time using the "Manage cookie preferences" button above, or the link in the footer.
5. Rejecting optional cookies
Rejecting the advertising service means Google AdSense is never loaded. The dashboard and all other features will continue to work normally.
6. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser. See aboutcookies.org for instructions for common browsers.
